Singles Seniors adult lifestyle communities
I have done a lot of research and found a lot of places that cater for senior/adult lifestyle communities. If you are a single senior, couple or 55+ this would be an ideal lifestyle as you do not have to worry about cutting the grass, no more noisy neighbours, loud stereo's, these places cater for seniors and have all the best amenities. I am not quite that age yet, but definitely going to look into the Florida links more as I find the Canadian winters just too brutal now..
For Canada:
Parkbridge: They claim to be Canada's leading owner, operator and developer of residential and recreational land-lease communities for senior singles, couples and 55+ age group. They have properties in Alberta, British Columbia, Ontario and Quebec. The types of properties they have are
Lifestyle Communities
Family / Seniors Communities
Cottage and RV Communities
Marinas
Chalets
Waterfront
Parkbridge owns and manages 63 properties in British Columbia, Alberta, Ontario and the Province of Quebec for a total of 13,977 operational sites, and with an expansion potential for an additional four thousand sites. Check out their website for more information regarding single seniors or couples seeking adult lifestyle housing.
Kaitling Group: This website did not give a lot of information regarding locations. There is a community being built in Midland, Ontario which will include townhomes, condo villas all located near the lake
Baldwin Place: Located in Tillsonburg, Ontario. Living in an adult lifestyle community can be expensive but at this location it is a freehold community and you do not have to pay monthly land-lease, maintenance and condo fees. Baldwin Place is a freehold community, which means you own your home and the lot it sits on. Garbage and snow removal, as well as maintenance of the streets, water and sewer lines are looked after by the Town of Tillsonburg.
So there are no land-lease, street maintenance or condominium fees at Baldwin Place. The fee for upkeep of the completed on-site Community Centre is $25.00 a month. It is located within 5 minutes of shopping, movies, restaurants, golf course and a hospital.
Briarhill: Located in Nottawasaga, which is close to Toronto. It offers first class living in a resort lifestyle for single seniors, couples and 55+. At the resort, the Sports & LeisureDome is a 70,000 square foot indoor recreation mecca home to a wide variety of Fitness & Recreation Facilities. Briar Hill also has its own spectacular 16,000 sq. ft. Community Centre where you can experience many social events and activities. Complement your lifestyle with superb dining in any of the three fine Dining opportunities at the resort for you and your friends or family. It all adds up to the perfect adult lifestyle community that's elegant, comfortable and affordable.
Looking to go to Florida? Here is a few links to senior, 55+, adult lifestyle communites as well as assisted living and retirement communities:
Floridasenior360 They do not show homes but have extensive links to assisted living communities, communities for people with alzheimer's, etc. You will have to email them for more information. I was impressed with this senior website as you could increase the size of text which is a bonus for sight challenged people. (another way of saying old and tired eyes)
CRF Communities: This website offers gated and villa homes, motor coach homes RV Motor Coach Pads and Manufactured homes. A lot to choose from depending on the type of housing you prefer. One of the links is to Deer Creek RV Golf Resort. They state that their RV/Motor Coach Pads are prices from the $50s which is quite resonable. There is also Rolling Ridge RV Resort which is worth checking out.
Seniors and 55+ Insurance. Don't leave home without it. The best advice I can give is to join the CARP organization.. They offer a lot of benefits for seniors, such as <b>life Insurance, travel insurance, disability insurance and finances. Now that Moses Znaimer is the Executive Director of CARP you will find a powerful and influential voice behind the organization.
